SIMBIOTIC

Symbiotic
I stir up bugs when I’m rooting for grub,
And the bugs do bite, and that’s the rub.
But my tick bird friend, who rides on my back
Eats up the bugs, and we like it like that.

WE’RE SYMBIOTIC,
YOU AND ME,
WE’RE SYMBIOTIC
IT’S THE GREAT BIG WE,
WE’RE SYMBIOTIC
HELPING EACH OTHER THROUGH
IT’S US TOGETHER—
IT’S THE ME AND YOU.

My feathered friend flaps when danger’s there,
So poachers don’t get my horn of hair.
And if a lion or leopard wants a tick bird treat,
I scare them away with my nose and feet.

WE’RE SYMBIOTIC,
YOU AND ME,
WE’RE SYMBIOTIC
IT’S THE GREAT BIG WE,
WE’RE SYMBIOTIC
HELPING EACH OTHER THROUGH
IT’S US TOGETHER—
IT’S THE ME AND YOU.

Like the bee makes the flower bloom and thrive,
The bee needs the flower to stay alive
Making honey from the nectar–after a figure-eight dance,
If they work together they got a real good chance.

WE’RE SYMBIOTIC,
YOU AND ME,
WE’RE SYMBIOTIC
IT’S THE GREAT BIG WE,
WE’RE SYMBIOTIC
HELPING EACH OTHER THROUGH
IT’S US TOGETHER—
IT’S THE ME AND YOU.

Like the crab and the algae on the ocean floor,
Working together they can do a lot more.
The crab’s tough shell makes a real nice lodge,
While the algae on the crab makes it camouflaged.

WE’RE SYMBIOTIC,
YOU AND ME,
WE’RE SYMBIOTIC
IT’S THE GREAT BIG WE,
WE’RE SYMBIOTIC
HELPING EACH OTHER THROUGH
IT’S US TOGETHER—
IT’S THE ME AND YOU.

It’s called Mutualism, oh yes it’s true,
When what’s good for one is good for two,
It’s always harmony when you sing your song
With you’re real good buddy–you get along.

WE’RE SYMBIOTIC,
YOU AND ME,
WE’RE SYMBIOTIC
IT’S THE GREAT BIG WE,
WE’RE SYMBIOTIC
HELPING EACH OTHER THROUGH
IT’S US TOGETHER—
IT’S THE ME AND YOU.
